Tasko ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard information when you use our iOS application Tasko (the "App").
By using Tasko, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
Information We Collect
1. Data You Provide
Tasko is a local-first application. Your tasks, notes, SSH credentials, and other data are stored only on your device and/or servers you explicitly connect to. We do not store your personal data on our servers.
2. Automatically Collected Data
We may collect limited technical information to improve the App:
- Device information: Device model, iOS version, app version, and language settings
- Crash reports: Anonymous crash logs to help us identify and fix bugs
- Usage analytics: Aggregated, anonymous feature usage statistics (e.g., which features are used most)
3. What We Do NOT Collect
- SSH credentials, passwords, or private keys
- Your tasks, notes, or personal content
- Server addresses or connection details
- GitHub tokens or API keys you configure in the app
- Location data
- Contact information or personally identifiable information
How We Use Information
The limited technical data we collect is used solely to:
- Fix bugs and improve app stability
- Understand which features are most used to prioritize development
- Improve compatibility with different iOS versions and devices
We do not sell, trade, or transfer your data to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising purposes.
Third-Party Services
Tasko integrates with third-party services you choose to connect. These integrations are initiated by you and governed by their respective privacy policies:
GitHub
When you connect GitHub, we use your personal access token solely to fetch repo data you request. We never store your token on our servers.
Claude AI (Anthropic)
If you use the AI Assistant feature, your queries are sent to Anthropic's API using your own API key. Subject to Anthropic's privacy policy.
SSH Servers
SSH connections are made directly between your device and your servers. We do not proxy or log SSH traffic.
Push Notifications
We use Apple Push Notification Service (APNs) for alerts. Only notification metadata is transmitted; no content from your tasks or servers.
Data Storage & Security
Your data security is our top priority:
- All sensitive data (SSH keys, credentials) is stored in iOS Keychain, encrypted at rest
- App data is protected by iOS device encryption and Face ID / Touch ID
- All network communications use TLS/SSL encryption
- We do not retain personal data beyond the scope necessary for app functionality
Children's Privacy
Tasko is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@tasko-app.store.
Your Rights
Since your personal data stays on your device, you have full control:
- Delete your data: Uninstalling the app removes all local data from your device
- Opt out of analytics: You can disable analytics in Settings → Privacy within the app
- Access your data: All your data is viewable and exportable within the app
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, through an in-app notification. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
